Evidence Of A Fire

Her eyes stare out
Into nothingness
No focus, no thoughts
At least not ones
She wants to think
The aroma of smoke
Permeates her clothes,
Her sheets, her memories
A fire once wildly raged
Between her walls,
Her legs and in her chest
Who knew what was once
The smallest of flames
Would ravage her soul
And singe her fibers
She has lost what she loved
Not a single ember smolders
In her now barren wasteland
